MORTCELLATION CANCER LAWSUIT
THE YANKOWITZ LAW FIRM STANDS UP TO DEFECTIVE PRODUCT MANUFACTURES WHO HURT CONSUMERS AND THEY WIN !!
Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon unit withdrew its morcellation devices worldwide in July 2014. The surgical devices pose the risk of spreading unsuspected uterine cancer during a hysterectomy or a myomectomy to remove uterine fibroids.
Laparoscopic power morcellation, which can break up the uterus or uterine fibroids into fragments for removal, can also spread the cancerous cells into the pelvis and abdomen. Studies found they may blast undetected uterine sarcoma into a wonan’s abdomen and pelvis during a hysterectomy or a myomectomy. A patient’s likelihood of survival can be significantly worsened as a result. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has estimated one in 350 women undergoing these procedures has an undiagnosed uterine sarcoma. The manufacturer, Ethicon suspended distribution of these devices worldwide in 2014.
